Zhanlu (湛卢) is China Mobile Cloud's (移动云) entry in the AI coding assistant space, built by attaching the carrier's own code large language model to an open-source agent harness. The extension's lineage is acknowledged rather than hidden: it derives from Roo-Code and Cline, inheriting their multi-step edit-approve-run workflow, while the model backend points at China Mobile's hosted service. That combination addresses a specific market problem — Chinese enterprise developers who cannot or will not route code through foreign AI APIs get an agent whose data stays on domestic infrastructure, without VPN requirements. Functionally it covers code generation, completion, explanation, and conversion of requirements or prototype designs into code, with Chinese-language interaction throughout.
